IT'S an early Manila Clasico match up in the quarterfinals of the PBA Philippine Cup.
A loss by both Barangay Ginebra and Magnolia at the end of the eliminations Sunday night forged a playoffs match up between the two rival teams in the quarterfinals that kicks off on Friday.
The Kings finished at no. 2 with a 7-4 record, while the Hotshots fell way at no.7 with a 6-5 slate.
Ginebra owned a twice-to-beat edge over Magnolia.
In other quarterfinals match up, no. 4 TNT faces no. 5 Rain or Shine, while third seed Meralco battles no. 6 NLEX.
Both match ups are a best-of-three series.
The top seed San Miguel Beermen will take on the winner of the playoff game between Northporth and Terrafirma.
The Beermen also have a twice-to-beat advantage.
