OTHER than arresting its slide in the PBA Philippine Cup, Barangay Ginebra has one major motivation going to its game against Globalport.
Win one for Samboy.
The Kings ended their Saturday practice all in agreement that they will try to beat the Batang Pier Sunday in honor of their former team manager, who is currently at the Intensive Care Unit of the Medical City after collapsing during an exhibition game at the Ynares Sports Center in Pasig two days ago.
Ginebra team manager Alfrancis Chua, who succeeded Lim in the position, admitted to Spin.ph the team talked about the matter during the Kings' practice on the eve of their match against the Batang Pier.
"Merong napag-usapan pakner," he said. "Kaya we'll try to win this one for Samboy."
The Kings of course, have issues of their own as they lost their last two games against San Miguel Beer and Meralco to crash out of contention for the two outright berth in the semifinals.
Ginebra is currently in the middle of the pack with a 5-3 slate.
