BARANGAY Ginebra coach Ato Agustin rued what he felt was 'inconsistent' officiating in the Gin Kings’ 104-103 loss to Talk ‘N Text on Sunday in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The usually mild-mannered Agustin could not help but comment on the officiating, feeling his big men drew some fouls that were not called by the referees in the thrilling match at the MOA Arena.

“Hindi ko na alam kung bakit ganun na ang officiating ngayon eh,” the former league MVP said. “I’m not against the officiating, but parang hindi consistent.

“Tinutulak na nga 'yung mga big guys namin, pero they’re not calling a foul,” he added. “Nung nakaraan naman, konting ano, may (tawag).”

Agustin said those non-calls proved a factor that allowed the Texters to come back from a deficit that grew to as many as 17 points, eventually snapping their two-game winning streak.

“Hindi ako against that (officiating), kaya lang siguro yung sitwasyon na ‘yun (ang reason) kaya nakapag-run ang Talk ‘N Text.”

“I don’t know kung bad calls or what,” he added. "Siguro hindi rin nakita ng mga refs.”

Agustin, though, admitted the Kings’ 19 turnovers, five more than the Texters, also did them in.

“We committed a lot of turnovers,” Agustin said. “Naka-recover lang kami nung huli na lang. may chance kami manalo, pero wala ng oras eh.”
