ANTIPOLO – San Miguel breezed past Titan Ultra, 143-113, on Wednesday at the Ynares Center before heading to a break in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup.

George King was back to his explosive ways on offense with 39 points as the Beermen stayed in second place with a 7-2 win-loss record.

Titan Ultra was dealt with its seventh loss in nine games.

The Giant Risers also lost Bryan Sajonia due to a non-contact injury in his left knee at the same spot where NLEX import DeQuan Jones suffered knee and ankle injuries

King nearly breached the 40-point mark after playing for only 10 minutes and scoring 19 points against Macau last Saturday. He shot 16-of-33 from the field and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Five players scored in double digits for the Beermen with Don Trollano scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Rodney Brondial also had a double-double of 13 points and 17 rebounds, nearly repeating his first round game against the Giant Risers where he had 10 points and 25 rebounds.

“It’s a great sign na the players really want to win especially going to the break, alam namin na before the break, gusto naming makakuha ng seven wins,” San Miguel coach Leo Austria said. “90 percent siguro, we are in the quarterfinals with three games to go.”

Tirrell Brown had 34 points, 13 rebounds, and six assists, but Titan Ultra sorely missed Sajonia, who was averaging 12.5 points prior to the game.
