Gary David welcomes shift in role as talent in comedy enhances in new TV5 sitcom

    Jul 19, 2015

GARY David is having the time of his life being part of TV5’s newest sitcom ‘No Harm, No Foul.’

The Meralco gunner plays one of the lead characters of the comedy program shown every Sunday nights, along with fellow cagers Willie Miller, Beau Belga, and Kiefer Ravena.

Despite crossing over from hardcourt to entertainment,  ‘El Granada’ told Spin.ph he doesn’t have a hard time adjusting to his new role, being a natural comedian himself.

“Okay naman. Masaya. Ang inportante, natural ‘yung pagpapatawa. Walang hirap,” said David, who once joined and topped a dance-oriented program on TV5.

The former Gilas Pilipinas stalwart plays the role of Gary Da V. in the sitcome, a dancing MMDA traffic enforcer who was eventually reunited with former high school teammates Wil Remillerme (Miller), Bo Abelgas (Belga), Kiefer Rivera (Ravena), and Jawo, played by the show’s main star Ogie Alcasid.

Just like in a team, David said teamwork is needed among the cast members in order to come up with the best episode possible.

“Okay naman kasi nag-tutulong-tulong kami ni Direk (Randy Santiago) at ni Kuya Ogie (Alcasid),” he said.

So far, David said he is receiving positive reviews from friends and fans about his performance and the show in general.

“Maraming nagsasabi na maganda daw kasi walang ka-effort effort daw ‘yung pag-deliver ng lines,” said David.

With the PBA in its offseason, David remains involved in the hardcourt but as part of the coaching staff of Topex Robinson for alma mater Lyceum in the NCAA Season 91.
