GARVO Lanete is about to put all the uncertainty to bed.
The 26-year-old amateur standout, whose jump to the PBA was long overdue, is set to sign a three-year maximum rookie contract with NLEX on Thursday.
The deal was confirmed by NLEX team manager Ronald Dulatre to Spin.ph on Tuesday.
The Road Warriors’ first pick and sixth overall in the draft two weeks ago, Lanete had delayed his move to the pros after his collegiate career with San Beda as well as in the D-League and the Gilas cadets owing to injury concerns.
But the young gunner, a shade over 6-foot-1 and younger brother of Barako Bull guard Chico, finally entered the draft this year, bringing his steady outside shooting to a Road Warriors side lacking in firepower.
Lanete leads seven Road Warriors’ picks in the draft.
Tenth pick Glenn Khobuntin, third-round pick Jansen Rios, and Simon Enciso, acquired in a trade with Rain or Shine, are also set to be signed, according to Dulatre.
