WITH two middle-order first-round picks, Rain or Shine knows its options are limited in the 2018 PBA Rookie Draft.
It doesn't mean ROS will come home empty-handed.
Caloy Garcia has his eyes set on a pair of wingman, both of whom he believes can help the Elasto Painters compete with the best the league has to offer.
"Tinitignan namin si (Javee) Mocon at si (Bong) Quinto," Garcia, whose team will be picking at No. 6 and 8, told SPIN.ph.
Mocon is coming off a stellar campaign with San Beda, winning Finals MVP honors after helping the Red Lions complete another three-peat this past NCAA Season 94.
Quinto, meanwhile, led Letran back to the Final Four as he also earned a spot in this past year's Mythical Team in the NCAA.
If Quinto does land at Rain or Shine, it will also reunite him with Garcia, who was his former coach at Letran, as well as former Knights Raymond Almazan and Rey Nambatac.
The Elasto Painters' selection, however, remains dependent on the other teams' picks, with Phoenix picking at No. 4, followed by Meralco at fifth and NLEX at seventh.
The top three picks are expected to be CJ Perez (Columbian), Blackwater (Ray Parks) and NorthPort (Robert Bolick).
