GABE Norwood was quick to atone for his woeful performance in a loss to TnT Katropa, taking over for Rain or Shine when it mattered most on Saturday.

Norwood scored 11 of his 14 points in the final quarter when the Elasto Painters pulled away for good on the way to a 106-89 win over an embattled Phoenix side in the PBA Governors' Cup.

The 6-5 guard said he was determined to make up for a narrow 101-98 loss at the hands of TnT just last Wednesday, where he missed two late free throws that dimmed RoS' last-ditch stand.

"Yes (extra motivated). I was frustrated with myself," said the Gilas captain, who likewise failed to click offensively in the national team's campaign in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament.

"It's been a frustrating month of basketball for me offensively, going back to Gilas experience, I really struggled. So to finally come out and knock down some shots, it was good for me and the team."

Norwood is hopeful this win will serve as the coal to the team's steam engine.

"It was good to come back and win," he said. "It's a short conference and every game counts, so we try to get back on track as soon as possible."
