WHATEVER the issue was between Raymond Almazan and Rain or Shine, it's all water under the bridge now.
Almazan showed up with other Elastopainters players and coaches during the PBA Media Day at the Solaire Resort and Casino, his first public appearance since missing the bulk of the Governors’ Cup.
Instead of looking back at a stormy past, Almazan said he is looking forward to the coming season with Rain or Shine.
“Past is past ‘yung mga nangyari. Bagong taon na eh. Just leave it there, ‘yung mga negative na nangyari. Let’s start a new life, parang ganun, especially all-Filipino. Sa akin walang pressure. Excited ako maglaro ngayon,” said Almazan.
A few months ago, the former Letran star went AWOL with the ElastoPainters amid rumors of a feud with head coach Caloy Carcia.
Rain or Shine resisted the urge to trade the enigmatic big man but suspended him for the rest of the season after he and Garcia patched up their differences.
“Wala na ‘yun,” said Almazan when asked about the issue.
Almazan said he is excited to see action again, having not played competitively for four months. He is also ready to face the challenge of adjusting to new teammates after Chris Tiu retired a few days ago.
“Para sa akin, malaking adjustment ‘yung wala si Chris. Pero may mga bagong players kami. Sana maganda mapakita namin sa all-Filipino. Lahat kami excited maglaro lalo na ako dahil four months ago hindi naglaro,” said Almazan.
Almazan said he is still in the process of regaining his form.
“As of now, nandoon na ‘yung timing pero iba ‘yung real game eh. Hindi ko rin masabi. Pero ready ako anytime,” said Almazan.
