COLUMBIAN Dyip unveils a new playing jersey for the coming PBA 44th season when it ushers in a new era in the franchise's history.
The Dyip will set aside its blue-colored uniform in favor of the green-minted ECO-friendly jersey, a caricature sample of which was provided to SPIN.ph.
No. 1 overall pick CJ Perez will be presented his new Columbian Dyip No. 7 jersey once he formally signs up with the ballclub this week.
"New players, new look, new hope," according to assistant team manager Ivy Bautista.
The Dyip hope to turn their fortunes around this season following the acquistion of Perez, the former NCAA MVP out of Lyceum.
Perez will be surrounded by a young crew anchored on the backcourt tandem of Rashawn McCarthy and Jerramy King, along with Russel Escoto, Reden Celda, Jackson Corpuz, Glenn Kobunthin, Andreas Cahilig, Eric Camson, Jonjon Gabriel, and returnee Keith Agovida.
The Dyip finished the 2017-18 season with a 6-27 record, enabling them to land Perez with the top overall pick in this year's draft.
With its new playing jersey, Columbian becomes the latest team in the league to have green as its official color, following in the footsteps of the fabled Crispa Redmanizers, Shell and Sta. Lucia.
Now the Dyip hope to inherit the winning traditon of these two championship franchises.
