FOR the first time since facing off in a classic UAAP finals series in 2013, brothers Jeric and Jeron Teng will share the same court again.
This time, though, it will finally be as teammates after they were named to the 12-man lineup of the Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas bound for the Fiba Asia Champions Cup.
"Very excited lang ako," Jeron said during the team's send off at the Discovery Suites on Tuesday.
"It’s the first time playing for the same team since high school. This is something bigger eh," he added. "It’s playing for the country and it’s a great chance to represent the country together. Yung lang eh, we’re just really blessed to have this opportunity."
The elder son of PBA legend Alvin is just as thrilled.
And while the former University of Santo Tomas gunslinger is relishing the chance to team up with his younger brother anew, he is also using it as springboard for a PBA comeback.
"Syempre big opportunity ito. Malaking challenge ang makakaharap natin. So kung maganda ang ipakita natin dito, may mag-take chance ulit sa akin sa PBA," said the pro who last played for Kia.
The PBA free agent's contract with Kia expired at the end of August. But he insisted his main focus now is be of help for the team, which leaves for Chenzhou, China on Wednesday.
"Ang focus is to really help the team win dito sa Champions Cup," he said.
