IT appears TNT will be the new home of journeyman forward Barkley Ebona.
The 27-year-old Ebona has joined the Tropang Giga in practice and is currently in negotiations with the team ahead of the PBA Philippine Cup.
Ebona was relegated by Converge to the unrestricted free agent with rights to salary (UFAWR2S) list prior to the start of the current season.
The product of Far Eastern University wasn't given a contract extension when his previous one expired last December until the 30-day grace period his mother ballclub is allowed to offer a new deal, making him an unrestricted free agent.
TNT management is considering whether Ebona would be given just a conference deal for the All-Filipino Cup or an entire one-season contract.
Ebona going to TNT is understandable as team manager Jojo Lastimosa once served as deputy coach of FEU when the big man was still part of the team.
At the same time, the 6-foot-6 Cebuano should come in handy as the TNT frontcourt is hounded by injuries to Poy Erram and Justin Chua, while former MVP Kelly Williams is not getting younger anymore.
