AS per request from many of our followers on Twitter, here are the remaining eight scenarios going into the last two playdates or last three games of the PBA Governors Cup semifinals.
The last three games will have Talk ‘N Text taking on Rain or Shine on Monday (July 16) then the Elasto Painters colliding with B-Meg and Barangay Ginebra taking on the Tropang Texters in the final semis playdate on Wednesday (July 18).
The current teams standings for these four teams which are the only ones that still have a chance at making the Finals:

While the table below should be self-explanatory for avid fans, please allow yours truly to summarize it a bit for those who may just want to look at it from their favorite team’s point of view:
For Rain or Shine:
- The Elasto Painters are already assured of a playoff for a Finals berth even if they lose their last two games
- Rain or Shine still needs two wins against Talk ‘N Text on Monday and B-Meg on Wednesday to formalize their first-ever PBA Finals appearance since entering the PBA in 2006 as Welcoat
- If it beats Talk 'N Text, Rain or Shine can advance to the Finals outright even if it loses to the Llamados on Wednesday, so long as the losing margin is 6 points or less.
For B-Meg:
- Like Rain or Shine, the Llamados are already assured of a playoff for a Finals berth even if they lose against the Elasto Painters on Wednesday
- B-Meg needs to beat Rain or Shine by at least seven points to secure an outright Finals berth, assuming Barangay Ginebra wins over Talk ‘N Text
- If TNT beats Ginebra, a win by B-Meg will be enough to lead it to a second straight Finals.
For Barangay Ginebra:
- A win over Talk ‘N Text on Wednesday is all it needs to be in a playoff for the second Finals berth against either B-Meg or Rain or Shine
For Talk ‘N Text:
- The Texters need to win their last two games against Rain or Shine and Barangay Ginebra to secure a playoff for the second Finals berth. Like head coach Chot Reyes said as early as two games ago, the Tropang Texters are in a “one miss, we die” situation.
