ELIJAH Millsap has gained a new lease on his NBA life as the former PBA import signed a multiyear contract with Phoenix Suns.
After leading San Miguel Beer to a semifinal stint in the last Governors’ Cup where eventual champion Ginebra beat the Beermen in the five-game series that went the limit, the 29-year-old wingman played for the Suns’ NBA D-League affiliate Northern Arizona (NAZ).
Millsap averaged a team-high 19.7 points, 7.9 boards, and four assists in 50 games as a starter for the NAZ Suns this season, using it as a springboard for his NBA return.
The 6-foot-5 wingman, younger brother of Paul Millsap, last played in the NBA for the Utah Jazz last season.
It was better late than never for the Millsap regarding his NBA return as he signed his new contract with one game left in this NBA regular season.
The Suns are out of the running for the playoffs.
