FORMER Ginebra import Dior Lowhorn is set to return to the PBA - not with the Gin Kings but with GlobalPort.
Sources from the Mikee Romero-owned franchise said the Batang Pier are bringing back Lowhorn to take the place of Leroy Hickerson, who has led the team to a 1-2 (win-loss) record in the Governors Cup.
No less than Romero made the decision to change imports, the source added, after the Batang Pier's 97-119 loss to Rain or Shine on Sunday where Hickerson was outplayed by AZ Reid.
Hickerson, in his third tour of duty in the PBA, finished with 20 points against the E-Painters.
Sources said GlobalPort has already secured clearance to tap the wide-bodied Lowhorn, who was coming off a stint with the Saigon Heat in the ABL before Ginebra brought him in.
The 28-year-old former University of San Francisco standout averaged 30.9 points, 11.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists in 11 games for Ginebra in last season's Governors Cup, where the Gin Kings were bundled out at the quarterfinal stage by top seed Petron (now San Miguel Beer).
