RANIDEL de Ocampo was formally honored on Friday by TNT as his jersey number 33 was retired by the ballclub.
De Ocampo was given a frame that contained his Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters jersey during halftime of Game 3 of the PBA Philippine Cup semifinals against Meralco.
During his speech, De Ocampo thanked TNT management from team owner Manny V. Pangilinan, team governor Ricky Vargas, team manager Jojo Lastimosa, and head coach Chot Reyes.

One thing that stood out from his halftime speech is his love for country.
Now 44, de Ocampo expressed his desire to still play for the national team if he is able at this age.
“Isang pagiging proud ko po ang walang sawa kong pagsisilbi sa bayan nung ako’y naglalaro ng basketball,” said de Ocampo.
“Kahit ngayon, kung kaya ko pang maglaro, maglalaro pa rin ako sa Gilas Pilipinas. Ganun ko po kamahal ang ating bansa,” he added.
De Ocampo was joined in the retirement ceremony by his family along with his former teammates at St. Francis of Assisi College such as Ervin Sotto and Al Vergara, and former head coach Gabby Velasco.
