BLACKWATER’S frontline got an added heft and height after activating veteran Justin Chua on Thursday.
The 34-year-old Chua has been out for almost a year after going down with an ACL injury which he suffered during Game 1 of the PBA Governors Cup Finals last season while still playing for TNT.
Chua did win a championship with the Tropang Giga before being traded earlier this year to Blackwater as part of a three-team deal centered on sophomore big man Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser.
The former Ateneo center will be available to play in Blackwater’s next game against Rain or Shine on Saturday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Chua is expected to form a tall frontcourt at Blackwater as he teams up with Troy Rosario, and rookies Christian David and Clifford Jopia.
Following the activation of the 6-foot-6 Chua, the Bossing placed guard Mike DiGregorio in the Unrestricted Free Agent List With Rights To Salary (UFAWR2RS), while moving Mike Ayonayon to the Injured/Reserved List from the UFAWR2RS.
The Bossing will come to their 3 p.m. game against the Elasto Painters coming off back-to-back losses against NLEX and Terrafirma for a 3-2 record.
