ALASKA'S hard-working Robert Dozier snared the PBA Commissioner’s Cup’s Bobby Parks Best Import trophy after beating out Barangay Ginebra’s Vernon Macklin in a one-sided contest.
The former Memphis Tigers forward amassed 1233 points value compared to Macklin’s 926 points as he garnered a huge 492-279 advantage in the media votes and a 150-75 vote from league officials.
Last season’s Best Import Denzel Bowles of San Mig Coffee was a distant third with 644 points value, while Talk ‘N Text’s late import replacement Tony Mitchell had 515.
Dozier said as great a feeling as it was to win the Best Import trophy, his focus right now is to help the Aces close out the Finals series against the Gin Kings at the jampacked Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The high-leaping Dozier is averaging 19.8 points, 17.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 2.7 blocks for the Aces this conference, helping the Uytengsu-owned franchise to a 17-4 record thus far.
The Aces now look to close the series and a 3-0 sweep of the Gin Kings on Sunday.
