FIL-AM forward Taylor Statham will join the 2021 PBA Rookie Draft, adding more ceiling to what is expected to be one of the deepest in years.
The 28-year-old announced his intentions on his social media pages, saying, "Declared for the 2021 PBA Draft. All in God's hands now."
The 6-foot-6 Statham is an intriguing option for PBA teams given his experience in the NBA G League with the then-Los Angeles D-Fenders.
Coming out of Cal State San Bernardino, he averaged 9.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.0 assist in 27.6 minutes back in his senior year with the Coyotes in the 2014-15 season.
Statham also showed his wares in the first season of Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3x3, competing in international competitions together with Joshua Munzon.
Aside from those, he also had stints in Canada, China, Thailand and Indonesia, where he last played for Pacific Caesar Surabaya.
Statham, like other Fil-foreign applicants, would have to submit the necessary documents proving his Filipino citizenship, namely the Department of Justice (DOJ) affirmation and Bureau of Immigration (BI) certification before the January 27 deadline.
