PBA's post about Clark bubble deluged with #LetCalvinPlay pleas

Fans' clamor for lifting of Abueva ban snowballs as Clark bubble nears
Sep 27, 2020

ON a quiet Sunday, PBA's official Facebook and Twitter pages teased about the league's upcoming Clark bubble season by posting a photo of a streamer welcoming players, coaches, and officials to the Quest Hotel.

Instead, the post turned into a platform for fans to raise the clamor to let Calvin Abueve play in the bubble season to be played right in his hometown.

Abueva, of course, is the Capampangan ligang labas legend turned PBA star who was suspended in June last year for his clothesline on TnT import Terrence Jones and lewd gestures directed at Bobby Ray Parks' girlfriend.

The indefinite suspension has now stretched for 15 months - the longest in PBA history.

The outcry obviously hasn't died down.

At posting time on Sunday, that one PBA post already has close to 2,000 comments - majority of them posts or social media cards or memes bearing the #LetCalvinPlay hashtag.

And from the looks of it, the PBA hasn't heard the last of this call.
