THE blockbuster trade between Star Hotshots and Rain or Shine that saw stars James Yap and Paul Lee swap places sent shockwaves in the local basketball scene.
On Twitter, fans, players and observers poured out their collective despair, dismay and displeasure upon learning the surprising news of Yap's departure from a storied franchise of which he was practically its poster boy in his entire PBA career.
While most were critical of the one-to-one exchange with Lee, a player eight years younger, Yap, one of the most popular players in the league ever since he was drafted No.2 overall by Purefoods in 2004, was the recipient of sympathy and appreciation. Here are some of the reactions:
