FIVE stitches were needed to close the cut suffered by June Mar Fajardo near his right eye on Sunday night during the PBA Philippine Cup Season 50.
The cut was the result of an inadvertent elbow of fellow big Yousef Taha during the San Miguel Beer-Phoenix tussle at the Ynares Center in Montalban.

The nine-time MVP immediately left the venue after the game to have the cut stitched up in the hospital.
“Five stitches, more than half inch ang cut,” said San Miguel Beer physical therapist Edward Bacason.
The incident which occurred with two minutes remaining in the first half, left Fajardo bloodied. He had to be brought back to the dugout to control the bleeding.
“Buti na-control yung bleeding,” Bacason said.

The 35-year-old Cebuano managed to return to the game wearing a medical plaster just beside his right eye and proceeded to finish with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, 22 rebounds and four assists in 37 minutes of play.
His effort though fell short, as the Beermen lost to the Fuel Masters, 109-103, and went down at 0-2 in the standings.
