MONTALBAN – June Mar Fajardo is parting ways with one of the most cherished possessions he had in his PBA career to help raise funds intended for victims of the recent typhoons to hit the country.
The 35-year-old San Miguel star decided to auction his first-ever MVP trophy to personally lead the fundraising project being initiated by TV5 through its Alagang Kapatid Foundation.
Fajardo admitted the trophy holds a sentimental value to him despite having won the most number of MVP awards in league history with nine.

“Hindi lang basta-basta ito trophy. Parte ito ng buhay ko,” said the 6-foot-11 Fajardo.
But in an effort to help his countrymen especially his fellow Cebuano who were badly hit by Typhoon Tino, Fajardo is more than willing to part ways with the special memorabilia.
“Special sa akin itong MVP na ito. Lahat ng pinag-daanan ko, hirap, pawis, dugo, nandito sa trophy na ito,” said the veteran center of the award which he first won in 2014.
The MVP trophy, along with other paraphernalia donated by PBA players, will be up for selling via a live auction on Friday (Nov. 14) through the Tulong Mga Kapatid Bayanihan Drive.
The project hopes to raise substantial amount to be donated to the families affected by Typhoon Tino and super-typhoon Uwan recently.
