Danny Espiritu, the longtime manager of the 36-year-old veteran guard, confirmed the decision of Exciminiano to Spin.ph on Tuesday.

He is the second TNT guard to retire in a week after Reyes, 42, also hang up his sneakers following a 17-year career.

Exciminiano played for 12 seasons since coming out of college from Far Eastern University.

He was a second-round pick of Alaska in the 2013 draft (No. 18 overall) and played the first six years of his career with the franchise.

Although the 6-foot guard didn’t win a championship with the Aces, he was part of the unit that reached the finals five times from 2015 to 2019 including the 2016 Philippine Cup title series where Alaska lost a commanding 3-0 lead against San Miguel.

Soon after, he was traded by Alaska to Rain or Shine for Maverick Ahanmisi.

After recovering from an ACL injury, he parted ways with the Elasto Painters and found a new team in TNT.

He initially played as part of the 3x3 team of the telecommunication franchise before eventually being elevated to the 5-on-5 team, where he won his first-ever PBA championship during the 2021 Philippine Cup bubble in Bacolor, Pampanga.

Exciminiano retired shortly after TNT fell short of completing a grand slam campaign in Season 49. He averaged 3.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 282 games and was a two-time member of the league’s All-Defensive Team.
