EVAN Nelle signed a two-year contract with NorthPort on Friday to become the latest addition to the team for its PBA Season 49 campaign.
The De La Salle guard was the first rookie signed by the Batang Pier for the coming season after being selected in the second round of Sunday’s rookie draft.

The Batang Pier also tabbed Dave Ildefonso at no. 5 in the first round, but the former Ateneo guard is currently in the Jones Cup in Taipei playing for Strong Group Athletics.
Present during the signing were Nelle and representative Charlie Dy of VP Global, along with Northport coach Bonnie Tan, team manager Pido Jarencio, and assistant team manager Wyip Chong.

Nelle joins a Northport side that has added new pieces in its roster just this week after consummating a series of trades with Magnolia and Ginebra.
The Batang Pier welcomed Jio Jalalon and Abu Tratter after sending sophomore big man Zavier Lucero to Magnolia, and then reacquired Sidney Onwubere from the Kings in exchange for Ben Adamos.
NorthPort also sent back-up guard Brent Paraiso to Terrafirma for the Dyip's second-round draft pick in Season 51.
