VETERAN Eric Menk failed to finish Alaska’s Smart Bro-PBA Philippine Cup game against Star on Wednesday night after suffering a possible broken nose following an accidental elbow by Marc Pingris just before the halftime buzzer.

Menk was left bloodied following the incident that saw a driving Pingris hit the former league MVP with a left elbow right at the bridge of the nose just as the Star forward was going for a shot against Calvin Abueva.

Alaska head trainer Gus Vargas said Menk will be brought to the Cardinal Santos hospital for X-ray.

“He said he already has a history of it (broken nose). He first suffered it during his stint with San Miguel in the Asean Basketball League (ABL)," said Vargas.

Menk had played for three minutes and had a single rebound under his name at the break which saw the Aces take a 50-46 lead.

Pingris immediately apologized to Menk after the accident.
