BANGER Eric Camson also has his soft side.

The KIA big man said he’s more than willing to smoke the peace pipe with Rain or Shine’s Raymond Almazan after the two got into a scuffle that led to their respective ejections in Saturday’s PBA Philippine Cup game.

Camson said he’s even ready to make the first move and apologize to the 6-foot-7 Almazan.

“Oo naman (apology). Wala namang problema dun. Hindi naman mababawasan yung pagkalalaki ko,” he said after the Picanto pulled off a 98-94 upset of the Elasto Painters in a fight-marred game at the Astrodome.

“Willing naman akong humingi ng pasensiya or sorry kay Raymond or sa liga.”

Both men traded blows after banging at each other during a rebound play in the second quarter, earning both a flagrant foul 2 infraction for outright ejection.

The banishment of Camson spoiled what had been a fine first half for the former Adamson stalwart, who already had 10 points – including seven in the second period – five rebounds, and four assists before he went out for good.

Somehow, there was a tinge of regret for his part.

“Maganda yung nilalaro ko so pumasok agad sa isip ko sayang kasi alam ko mae-eject ako,” he admitted. “Pero nangyari na. Hindi ko rin ginusto yung nangyari sabihin na nating nabigla rin ako.”

If there’s one consolation Camson had following the incident, it’s the Picanto finally ending their long 16-game losing streak dating back to last season’s Commissioner’s Cup, and registering their first win in the all-Filipino conference after a 0-4 start.

Frustration, according to Camson, perhaps could have gotten the better of him, too.

      “Siguro,” was his curt reply.

“Nasa loob ako ng dugout nagdadasal ako. Sabi ko kung hindi para sa amin ito acceptable naman, huwag lang kami matambakan ng kagaya nung mga nakaraan dahil sobrang sakit and hirap matulog,” he said.

But following the Picanto’s hard-earned win, perhaps he can now sleep soundly.
