ERIC Camson is hoping that his move to Mahindra gives him a chance to prove that he can be more than just a role player in the PBA.
And it seems the fourth-year big man is in the right place to do so as he made an immediate impact in his debut for the Mahindra on Sunday in the team’s 96-87 win over Blackwater in the Commissioner’s Cup.
Averaging just 6.6 points, 4.1 boards, and 0.1 assist in just 12.9 minutes for the Road Warriors this conference, Camson tallied nine points on 13 attempts, three boards, and two assists without a turnover in 18 minutes off the bench.
More importantly, the performance resulted in his first victory this conference – an early birthday present as he turns 27 on May 12.
The 6-foot-4 Camson is grateful to have a coach like Chris Gavina who has immediately given him the trust to deliver.
