KELLY Nabong criticized the referees on Wednesday as he felt his ejection during San Miguel’s match against Phoenix Pulse was unfair.
Nabong was ejected with 3:11 left in the game and the result settled. He was first called for a flagrant foul one for his challenge on Phoenix cager Jorey Napoles and was shortly called for a technical foul that caused his ejection.
Nabong admitted he feels like he was singled out by the referees.
“It seems like they aren’t even watching the game,” said Nabong, who played for seven minutes and finished with three points and two rebounds. “They are just watching the back of my jersey.”
“It seems like it is unfair,” Nabong said.
After he was called for a flagrant foul one, Nabong said he approached the referees to seek an explanation for the call, only to be slapped with a technical foul.
“I try to ask a question. They gave me a T. Without even cussing or anything. They just gave me a T (because of) the name on the back.”
“They are not watching the game. They are watching my name,” Nabong ended.
