WHILE some players left, there are also those who stayed behind Terrafirma.
Guards JP Calvo and Ed Daquioag both agreed to sign extension deals with the Dyip one week left before the start of the PBA Governors’ Cup.
Ed Daquioag, JP Calvo contract signings
Daquioag was given a one-year contract, while Calvo was signed for the rest of the PBA 47th season.
The signing came amid another roster shakeup for the KIA franchise which dealt former top pick Joshua Munzon to NorthPort for veteran gunner Kevin Ferrer.
Rookie Javi Gomez De Llano was supposed to be part of the trade, so was NorthPort’s Jesper Ayaay, and a future second round pick.
But the PBA trade committee shut down the proposal, and allowed instead a straight one-on-one deal involving Munzon and Ferrer.
Calvo and Daquioag were the latest players to be re-signed by the Dyip after top gunner Juami Tiongson.
The 31-year-old Daquioag, however, wouldn’t still be able to suit up for the season-ending conference as he continues to recover from a fractured fibula surgery after going down with the injury during the Philippine Cup.
Daquioag was with agent Marvin Espiritu of the EMBM (Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management) Philippines during the signing, while Calvo was accompanied by representative Danny Espiritu.
Team manager Ronald Tubid represented Terrafirma.
