TWO former TNT players who won PBA championships with the franchise and a rookie free agent are among those trying out for roster spots at Titan Ultra prior to the resumption of the PBA Governors' Cup.
Barkley Ebona, Jielo Razon, and Christian Fajarito have joined the Giant Risers in practice with the hope of cracking the team lineup for the rest of Season 50.
An opening at the Titan Ultra roster propped up after the team decided not to give contract extensions on Jeo Ambohot, Jerrick Balanza, and Damie Cuntapay.
Ebona and Razon were let go by the Tropang 5G prior to the start of the league's golden season, but not after being part of the unit that nearly scored a grand slam in Season 49.
The 29-year-old Ebona won back-to-back titles with the franchise in the Governors' Cup and Commissioner's Cup, respectively, while the 27-year-old Razon was picked as a rookie free agent after being undrafted in Season 49 and ended up becoming part of the Commissioner's Cup championship squad.
Fajarito on the other hand, was a second round pick (no. 22 overall) by the Meralco Bolts in the Season 47 draft, but wasn't signed by the team.
The 6-foot-6 center initially played for College of Saint Benilde before transferring to Letran where he won a men's basketball championship in the NCAA Season 95.
