IS Dylan Ababou going back to Barangay Ginebra?
The Barako Bull wingman denied this, playing down his surprise appearance in an unofficial Ginebra workout session on Monday at the CCF gym in Pasig.
“Wala, naki-shooting lang,” Ababou said with a smile.
The former Gin King, who was traded to Barako before the start of last PBA Governors’ Cup, explained the Energy have yet to officially start training camp, instead holding sessions that are limited to cross training at the track oval of Philsports Arena in Pasig.
Making the most of his offseason, the 28-year-old former UAAP MVP out of University of Santo Tomas decided to drop by, spending time with former teammates Japeth Aguilar, LA Tenorio, and Greg Slaughter, among others.
The chance to be trained — even for just one session — by renowned American skills coach and Gin Kings assistant Kirk Collier, who conducted the drills on Monday, was also too good to pass up.
“Sayang lang yung opportunity kanina, kaya nakisabay na ako,” Ababou said, stressing there is no trade in the works for his return to Ginebra.
