TERRAFIRMA has again let go of another former no. 1 pick.

The Dyip sent Fil-Am Joshua Munzon to NorthPort just two years since tapping him as the top overall pick in the PBA Season 46 draft.

Munzon along with rookie Javi Gomez de Liaño were sent to the Batang Pier in exchange for veteran Kevin Ferrer, Jesper Ayaay, and a future second-round pick.

Trade papers were sent to the PBA office late Monday afternoon.

Munzon is the third no. 1 overall pick in the last four years to be traded by the Terrafirma franchise after the rights to Christian Standhardinger (2017), and CJ Perez (2018).

It likewise let go of Roosevelt Adams, its top pick in the 2019 draft, after the Fil-Am forward didn’t sign an extension contract with the Dyip as a restricted free agent.

But SPIN.ph sources said everything has not been going well between Munzon and team management of late that parting of ways between both parties was inevitable.

Despite just averaging 8.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in the Commissioner’s Cup where the Dyip went 1-11, there were teams which reportedly inquired about the availability of the 27-year-old native of Long Beach, California, one of them was Phoenix.

The Dyip eventually sent him to the Batang Pier, who have been the busiest team tinkering with their roster starting this year.

It’s the third trade in more than a week for NorthPort, which initially sent Jerrick Balanza to Converge for Allyn Bulanadi.

But Bulanadi found himself on the move again after being dealt to San Miguel a few days after in exchange for Paul Zamar and a second round draft pick.

For Gomez de Liaño, this will be the second time in his rookie season that he was traded.

He was initially picked no. 8 overall by Barangay Ginebra in the last draft, but was given up to the Dyip along with Brian Enriquez for the rights on no. 2 pick Jeremiah Gray.
