TALK ’N Text coach Norman Black called his team’s performance “embarrassing” but noted there is no point in dwelling on their mistakes.
"We should not be happy with the effort that we gave tonight," said Black after his team was clobbered, 85-116, by Rain or Shine on Sunday.
It was a shock result, especially for a Texters side that went 4-0 over the Painters in this year's Philippine Cup Finals and had held a 6-0 lead in their season match-up entering the game.
Now Talk 'N Text has slipped into a tie for fourth spot at 5-5 with San Mig Coffee, Barangay Ginebra, and Air21 and will be hard-pressed to move out of the logjam and boost their playoff chances.
"I told them not to focus on the mistakes," said the multi-titled mentor. "Instead focus on how to fix it."
Rain or Shine took a commanding, 18-2, lead with 6:44 left in the first quarter and never looked back.
"At this point at 5-5 (win-loss record), we will try to position ourselves for the playoffs," Black said.
