TALK `N Text's PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals campaign suffered a big blow Saturday when coach Norman Black declared big guard Jared Dillinger out for the remainder of the best-of-five series against Barangay Ginebra after figuring in a vehicular accident.
The unfortunate incident took place early Saturday morning.
“Yes, he met an accident and will be out for the series,” said Black shortly after the team’s practice at the Moro Lorenzo Sports gym on Saturday.
“He will be a big loss for us.”
In Dillinger’s absence, Black expects backup guys like Aron Aban and Bam Gamalinda to step up and fill in the void left by the 6-foot-3 guard.
Dllinger is also one of six Talk `N Text players included in the 16-man pool of Gilas Pilipinas.
Details of the accident were not available as of posting time, though Dillinger’s agent Charlie Dy told Spin.ph that the player is now resting at home.
“Lumabas siya kasama actually mga kamag-anak niya, but he’s OK naman. He’s just resting at home in Merville (Paranaque),” said Dy.
The incident happened just when the Tropang Texters will try to mount a comeback in Game Two of their series with the Kings after losing the opener Friday, 104-81.
