TOWARDS the end of Rain or Shine's game against Meralco on March 2, a frustrated Yeng Guiao, slapped a disqualifying second technical foul, unleashed an unprintable parting shot in the face of one of the referees on his way out of the court.

Days since that game which Meralco won, 121-117, in overtime, some fans are still steaming on the comments section of SPIN.ph's social media pages, wondering why no league action was taken on what they felt was abuse on a referee.
Well, a simple check with the PBA Commissioner's Office showed the rant didn't uo unpunished.
Guiao hit with penalty
League officials confirmed the fiery Rain or Shine coach was fined P20,000 for the incident, which we understand is broken down to the regular penalty for getting thrown out and an extra for the rant on the referee.
Guiao is one of the most successful coaches in PBA history. He is also the most outspoken. As a result, he has racked up fines that by conservative estimates, has long breached the half a million peso mark in his career.
As successful as he is, that's certainly one blot in Guiao's career that he needs to work on.
