DEVON Scott deflected the credit to Simon Enciso after they helped San Miguel escape with a 98-96 win over Bay Area Dragons and live to fight another day in their PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals series.
The San Miguel import stressed his blcok on a driving Kobey Lam with seven seconds left wouldn’t have been possible had Enciso not drilled a clutch three-pointer in the previous play that gave reigning champion a two-point lead.

“The block doesn’t mean anything had Simon not made that shot,” said Scott while on his way out of the team dugout at the Philsports Arena in Pasig on Sunday.
The import added he wouldn’t have been in that position if not for Enciso draining the go-ahead basket.
In the end, the 28-year-old Scott said it was a team effort why the Beermen rose from the dead in the best-of-five series which they still trailed, 2-1.
“I wouldn’t have made that block if it was not a full team effort to win the game,” said Scott, who played his best game yet in the series with a team-high 25 points, 14 rebounds, two assists, and two block shots.
Enciso said despite losing the first two games, the Beermen never wavered and kept their focus.
“We came in practice all locked in and we just worried one game at a time. That’s all you can do,” the Fil-Am guard said after he finished with 16 points and seven rebounds, including 4-of-7 from three-point range.
Game 4 is set on Wednesday with San Miguel hoping to pull off another win and extend the series to a decider.
Scott said he expects the next game, or games, to be a nail-biter.
