TROY Rosario has joined five-on-five practices and says he will be ready to see action for both TNT Katropa and the Philippine team next week.
Out since suffering a broken nose in a preseason game with the Katropa in December, Rosario said he is progressing well and should be game ready soon.
TNT full contact basketball training has been a big boost for Rosario, who less than a week ago said he was unsure of his stint with Team Pilipinas for the final window of the Asia qualifiers for the Fiba World Cup.
“Kaya na maglaro. Puwede na maglaro,” said Rosario. “Next week, laro na nga ako sa PBA.”
Rosario has been wearing a protective mask in practice in order to protect his nose, which got broken during a tune-up game against NLEX last December.
“Nakapagpractice na ako sa TNT nang dalawang araw. Hopefully, next week makalaro na ako. Matagal na akong binigyan ng clearance. Sabi lang ng mga coaches, ipahinga lang ng one week pa. Mas maganda na ‘yung fully-healed ‘yung ilong kesa matamaan uli tapos back-to-zero,” Rosario said.
The TNT big man said he is already adjusting to the protective mask by wearing it at home after practice and is confident he can deliver for the Philippines in the crucial tiffs against Qatar and Kazakhstan next month.
“Nasa pool naman ako. If ever na maging okay na ‘yung conditioning ko, hindi naman problema sa akin ‘dun dahil after ng isang linggo, puwede na maglaro,” said Rosario.
