WILL June Mar Fajardo be back next year and re-write PBA history by winning a fourth straight MVP award?
The 26-year-old center smiled and shook his head, but refused to answer the question directly.
There’s only one thing he craves – win more championships.
“Yung pinaka-goal ko naman talaga is yung championships. Bonus na lang yung mga MVP awards,” said Fajardo on a night night when he made history as the first player in the 41-year history of the pro league to win three straight MVP awards.
“Championship, maraming championships.”

The 6-foot-10 San Miguel superstar, only in his fourth year in the league, won the league's highest individual honor in runaway fashion. He tallied a total of 3,079 points in besting Jayson Castro of TNT Katropa (2242) and Alaska’s Calvin Abueva (1501).
Not that he doesn't savor MVP trophies.
“Hindi (tayo magsasawa). Siyempre blessing din ito,” he stressed. “Hindi mo kailangang ilagay sa ulo mo yung mga awards. Kailangan dito (pointing to his heart) at hindi dito (pointing to his head).”
Fajardo will be going back to Cebu and rest for a while before rejoining the Beermen in their preparation for their title defense in the season-opening Philippine Cup.
“Kailangan naming mag-practice mabuti. Kung ano yung mga mali namin this season kailangan naming improve,” he said.
The league’s 42nd season kicks off on November 20.
