DEMARCUS Cousins isn’t closing the door on playing pro ball in the Philippines.
The former NBA star played for the Zamboanga Valientes in The Asian Tournament last year and is onboard with Strong Group Athletics this time around for the 34th Dubai International Basketball Championship.
Could a PBA or MPBL stint be next?
“I’m a businessman. If it makes sense, absolutely,” Cousins said.

Philippine heat aside, the four-time NBA All-Star is loving every bit of his second coming in the country so far.
“It feels great to be back. Same support as last time, same love. I feel that same energy,” the 6-foot-10 big man said.
“I’ve had more time this time in Manila, so I've really got to, well, not really get out, but I'm getting more opportunity to get out, so I'm excited for that.”
Cousins added: “Hot, just like last time, so that didn't change, but overall, I'm happy to be back. I've enjoyed the experience so far.”
Now 34 years old with his 12-year NBA run behind him, taking his talents overseas has been the thrill of a lifetime as he reaches the twilight of his sporting career.
Not only does he get to experience pro ball like he’s never done before, but he’s also had the unique opportunity of passing on the wisdom from years of experience at the highest level to the next generation of hoopers wherever he goes.
“With this stage in my career, being able to play all over the world, each spot I go, it just amazes me with the talent that's just all around the world. This is just another testimony of that,” said Cousins.
“I am on the other side of things. I'm now that veteran guy on most teams that I joined, so I'm enjoying the experience. I'm enjoying the role, and I always enjoy just passing around knowledge and teaching guys underneath.”
