DANNY Seigle was in top form on Friday night, just days after PBA fans were angered by his non-inclusion in the list of the pro league's '40 Greatest Players.'

For most of the fourth quarter against former team San Miguel Beer, the 38-year-old veteran looked every inch like the player who had won four Finals MVPs, two Best Player of the Conference awards, a Comeback Player of the Year plum and a top rookie honor.

Seigle scored nine points in the final quarter for Talk 'N Text, including the two baskets that keyed the late-game run that wrapped up the Texters' 107-101 victory and fed all the more the anger of fans who felt he should've been in the league's honor list.

Still, the Fil-American forward said he wasn't out to prove a point on Friday night.

“It’s a regular game where we needed to win. We’re thinking of the playoffs,” said Seigle, who finished with 12 points on 5-of-6 shooting after averaging just 3.3 points in his first 10 games this season with the Texters.

Instead, Seigle said he was merely trying to be ready each time he gets the call from Talk 'N Text coach Jong Uichico in his new role as an off-the-bench player.

“I just have to be ready when I get that call. I work hard every day. I work hard in practice, so when I get 10 minutes (of playing time), I have to be ready,” he said.

Although he avoids wading into the debate over his '40 Greatest Players' snub, the Talk 'N Text wingman said he appreciates all the support he has been getting from fans.

“It’s (fans’ support) great. It’s some kind of consolation. I really appreciate it,” he said.
