DON'T look now, but two celebrated Dannys from San Miguel's glorious past may end up reuniting at Talk 'N Text.
Just a day after acquiring free agent Danny Seigle, the flagship team of the PLDT group, sources said, is looking at the possibility of acquiring Danny Ildefonso, who was dropped by by longtime team Petron (formerly San Miguel) just days into the new season.
A source confirmed to Spin.ph the idea of signing Ildefonso "is an option right now" for the Texters considering the team will have to drop one of its five Fil-foreign players to make room for Seigle under the league rule limiting the number of Fil-foreigners in a team's active roster.

The Texters are currently right on the limit with Jimmy Alapag, Sean Anthony, Kelly Williams, Ali Peek and Harvey Carey in the active roster. The list is still without incoming Rob Reyes, who is recovering from a knee injury and is expected to be fit enough to return in mid-December.
However, there is still the problem of prying away Ildefonso from Petron, which still owns the rights on the two-time MVP even if he was not offered a contract extension after officials got miffed at his frank comments on moves done by the San Miguel organization.

Another source said Talk 'N Text may likely initiate a trade to reshuffle its roster to accommodate Seigle and land Ildefonso. The deal may end up involving sister team Meralco and a few teams, the source added.
"They're working on it na," said the source.
Well-known player agent Danny Espiritu said Ildefonso should approach San Miguel officials to ask for his release, as the company appeared no longer keen on giving its 36-year-old veteran a playing contract.
“Kailangan dun kausapin nila ng maayos yung San Miguel. Tingin ko naman sa hinaba ng sinerbisyo ni Danny sa kanila, hindi na siya papahirapan ng mga yun,” said Espiritu, who guided young agents Matthew Manotoc and son Marvin in securing the release of Seigle from Barako Bull.
“Yun ang kailangan muna nilang asikasuhin. Anyway, wala naman ng contract na inalok ang San Miguel. So pwede nilang pag-usapan yan. Unless may balak ang Petron na palaruin ulit siya ha,” he added.
Seigle and Ildefonso were instrumental in bringing six league championships to San Miguel during their time with the Beermen from 1999 to 2009. Ildefonso won his seventh crown during the Blaze Boosters run to the 2011 Governors’ Cup title.
Talk 'N Text coach Norman Black is also a former coach of San Miguel who left the team the year before the Beermen acquired Ildefonso in a draft-day trade with Shell.
Even before joining Talk 'N Text, Seigle had already expressed his desire to retire alongside Ildefonso at Petron. [For full story, see Seigle expresses wish to retire alongside pal Danny I at Petron]
Now, a source said that if and when the franchise acquires Ildefonso, PLDT top honcho Manny V. Pangilinan has already given a marching order to give the two fabled PBA superstars a fitting retirement when they are both ready to hang up their jerseys.
