ANTIPOLO - Cyrus Baguio was left to rue Phoenix's porous defense in the aftermath of its stinging 136-124 loss to TnT Katropa to bow out of the PBA Governors Cup playoffs on Saturday at the Ynares Sports Center here.

So lacking the Fuel Masters’ defensive effort was that Jayson Castro erupted for a season-high 42 points, 40 of which he dropped in the first three quarters of the high-scoring game.

Castro's offensive onslaught helped the Texters turn the game around in the third period, from which the Fuel Masters failed to recover.

"Unang una malakas talaga TnT e. Pero tingin ko depensa talaga namin yung kailangan i-work ng team. Biruin mo ilan score nila, masyadong mataas. Yung offense namin mataas rin. Ibig sabihin depensa talaga problema," he said

"Hindi na nga binalik (si Jayson) nung fourth pero andun pa rin offense nila."

But the former UST standout was nonetheless happy with what the young franchise achieved. In fact, Baguio bared team management was satisfied with how the team fared this conference.

"Natuwa naman management kasi first time pumasok quarterfinals," he said.

"Kulang pa ang panahon (na magkakasama kami) para tumibay tong team na to. Pero may potential to, malayo ang mararating."
