CYRUS Baguio believes Alaska had a better chance to win Game Two of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals against Rain or Shine on Sunday night if it would’ve gone into overtime.

The Aces fell into a 2-0 hole after surrendering a 105-103 decision in Game Two that saw Paul Lee hit the game-winning jumper that beat the regulation buzzer.

“Sayang, kung nag-overtime sana, may chance pa sana kami kasi marami sa kanila foul trouble,” Baguio said as Beau Belga had five fouls, while Lee, import Pierre Henderson-Niles, and three other locals had four fouls.

Still, the Aces had a chance to steal the game in regulation and tie the series as they rallied from a late nine-point deficit, banking on a 12-3 run to knot the count at 103, only to have a defensive breakdown in the final play where they failed to box out Lee.

“Siguro sa sobrang gusto naming manalo, nagkaroon lang ng konting gigil sa depensa,” Baguio admitted. “Nag-scramble eh. Bumagsak kay Paul 'yung tira, malakas 'yung tira ni Beau, bumagsak sa kanya. Walang tao so wala, para sa kanila talaga.”

“Ganun pa rin, positive pa rin,” he was quick to add. “Hindi pa naman tapos. Kaya ano lang, galingan pa namin siguro.”
