CONVERGE and San Miguel stake their unbeaten records against each other, and so will TNT in a battle battle winless team Titan Ultra in the continuation of the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup at the Ynares Center-Antipolo.

Here is a preview.

TNT VS. TITAN ULTRA

When: Wednesday, July 22. 5:15 p.m.
Where: Ynares Center-Antipolo

Tropa aim for win No. 2

TNT shoots for its second straight win on Wednesday when it goes up against Titan Ultra. The Tropang 5G opened the conference with a win, but barely, surviving a late comeback by Macau, 106-103. TNT coach Chot Reyes admitted the team isn’t even close to peak form yet as the match against Macau was their first “tune-up game” for the conference. Reyes is hoping that his team shows up in better form for the match against Titan Ultra.

Giant Risers still winless

Titan Ultra has yet to claim a win, and its matches haven’t been close. In their previous game, the Giant Risers lost to NLEX, 135-100, to go down to 0-3 win-loss. Titan Ultra has now lost for an average of 26.3 points, and 33 over the last two games.

Nambatac against Titan

Rey Nambatac was in command for TNT in its first game of the conference when he had 23 points and six assists. Nambatac admitted he has something to prove following reports that he was being considered being traded by the Tropang 5G to Titan Ultra, ironically their opponent for Wednesday, for Joshua Munzon. ‘Sting Rey’ will seek to continue his strong showing against the Giant Risers.

    Sumang is super

Roi Sumang is in his second year back in the PBA after playing in the MPBL from 2023 to 2025. Early in this conference, Sumang is experiencing a renaissance for Titan Ultra, with averages of 11 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.7 assists through three games. Against NLEX, Sumang even scored a conference-high 18 points. Can he sustain this form against TNT?

    SAN MIGUEL VS. CONVERGE

    When: Wednesday, July 22. 7:30 p.m.
    Where: Ynares Center-Antipolo

    Battle of unbeaten teams

Converge and San Miguel face off on Wednesday in a battle of unbeaten teams. The FiberXers are going for the solo lead in Group A with its match against San Miguel. Meanwhile, the Beermen will join NLEX in a share of the lead in the group with a win over the FiberXers.

    True test for both teams

Converge is unbeaten so far after beating Titan Ultra and Macau by an average margin of 28 points. The FiberXers were challenged by Terrafirma, 105-103, in their second game of the conference. The litmus test will come against San Miguel.

The same thing can be said for San Miguel, which won over Macau, 123-109, last July 14, and against Terrafirma, 109-104, last Saturday.

    Arana on a roll

Converge has been winning games thanks to Justin Arana, who had a memorable stretch last week. Arana averaged 30 points and 11 rebounds over the last two games including a 39-point game against Macau where he registered a career-high.

    Battle in the paint

With Arana dominating, Converge was able to score 112 points in the paint against Macau. The FiberXers were also efficient from the two-point shot with a 67-of-111 clip (60 percent). That could be a different story for Converge in this game as the FiberXers will now be up against the SMB frontcourt led by June Mar Fajardo and Rodney Brondial.

Fajardo has yet to produce in his usual rate after he had only two points and four rebounds against Terrafirma. Brondial, meanwhile, is holding the fort with an average of 9.0 points and 18.0 rebounds this conference.
