CONVERGE shoots for its fourth win when it takes on Rain or Shine on Thursday in the PBA Governors’ Cup at the Philsports Arena.

The FiberXers also look to reclaim solo first in the team standings in their 5:45 p.m. encounter with the Elasto Painters. They are currently in a tie on top after NLEX beat TNT on Wednesday night.

Converge passed an acid test in its previous outing, overcoming Magnolia Chicken Timplados, 111-109, to stay unbeaten. But head coach Aldin Ayo said his team remains in the adjusting phase especially after making an import change with Jamaal Franklin.

“Possession by possession ang approach namin both on offense and defense. Jamaal is still adjusting sa sistema namin. Right now, we are very predictable,” said Ayo.

The Elasto Painters are 0-2 to start of the conference, squandering an 18-point lead before bowing to TNT, 105-100, last Friday.

Still, Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao is optimistic with his team, seeing improvements in the TNT game.

“Extraordinary percentage. I felt we were contesting the shots but they were still making them. They played the second half well and I don’t have any excuses. They played better in the second half, we played better in the first half. They have more experience closing games. That’s what we need to develop sa team,” said Guiao.

“There is a good side to it putting them in a precarious situation giving ourselves a chance to win the game. It’s still an improvement from our Meralco game where we weren’t able to compete in the end game,” Guiao added.
