SAN Miguel and Converge will look to get back to their winning ways while Blackwater will seek to arrest its skid against Group B leader Phoenix Super LPG on Wednesday in the PBA 50th Season Governors’ Cup.

Out to continue hot start
Phoenix Super LPG is out to sustain its impressive start. The Fuelmasters ended the first round of eliminations with a 4-1 win-loss record after beating Blackwater, 102-93, last July 28. Phoenix will play Blackwater for the second straight time in Wednesday’s showdown.
Mamuyac’s best game with Phoenix
In his third game with the Fuelmasters, Gian Mamuyac produced his best offensive game by churning 18 points against the Bossing. He was also stellar defensively by contributing three steals in a game where Phoenix, as a team, forced 17 turnovers.
Barefield, Panopio try to atone
Sedrick Barefield and Dalph Panopio will look to have better games after their off-night against Phoenix Super LPG. Barefield scored only 10 points and shot 5-of-19 from the field. He also went 0-of-7 from threes for the second time this conference, bringing his percentage from that distance down to 22 percent. After averaging 14.25 points in the first four games, Panopio scored only seven points against Phoenix Super LPG. Blackwater needs their production as the Bossing have now lost three straight games.

Time to recover
Both San Miguel and Converge are coming off defeats. The Beermen were beaten by TNT in overtime, 93-89, last Saturday, and have now lost two out of their last three games. The FiberXers have now lost three straight games after their 119-107 defeat to NLEX last Saturday. San Miguel is in second with a 4-2 win-loss record, while Converge is in a tie with TNT with a 3-3 record. With NLEX holding a 6-0 record, both teams will look to catch up.
Jerrick off night
After his best game as a Beermen where he scored 26 points on 4-of-8 shooting from threes, Jerrick Ahanmisi was unable to sustain his form against TNT where he only had three points and shot 1-of-6 from three-point range.
Short rotation
For the first time this conference, Converge played with a short rotation with eight players in action against NLEX. Mikey Williams and Calvin Abueva benefited from the longer playing time with Williams scoring 18 points and shooting 3-of-3 from four-point range, and Abueva grabbing a conference-high 12 rebounds.
