ANTIPOLO - Converge wrapped up its PBA 50th Season Commissioner's Cup campaign with a 136-122 win over Blackwater on Saturday at the Ynares Center.
The FiberXers finished the campaign with a 5-7 win-loss record in what was a relatively disappointing conference.
Converge coach Delta Pineda said the team made sure to treat the no-bearing game as if it was not.
“Kailangan pa rin namin mag-trabaho. Hindi dahil sa last game na at wala na kaming chance, magrerelax na kami at ipakita pa rin namin yung obligasyon namin sa team,” said Pineda.
Juan Gomez de Liano had 25 points, and Justine Baltazar had 17 points and 11 rebounds to steady the ship for Converge after Donovan Smith fouled out in the 9:36-mark of the fourth quarter.
Converge also survived the absence of Justin Arana after leaving the game in the third quarter due to an injury.
Robert Upshaw had 45 points and 18 rebounds but the Bossing still lost to go down to 2-10 despite a 15-4 start to the game.
