TIM Cone had little to say about the 86-81 loss Barangay Ginebra absorbed on Wednesday night against Meralco other than looking forward to playing a Game 7 in their PBA Philippine Cup semifinals series.
“What can I say? Game Seven. The two best words in sports,” he said as he walked out of the Smart Araneta Coliseum alongside wife Cristina.
Cone’s disappointment was understandable.

The Kings failed to finish off the Bolts in Game 6, losing a close contest, 86-81, that tied the best-of-seven series at 3-game apiece and forged a Game 7 on the road on Friday in San Jose, Batangas.
After scoring 34 points the previous game, Barangay Ginebra big man Christian Standhardinger was held to 19 points and eight rebounds, while committing six of the Kings’ total of 16 turnovers.
Scottie Thompson was 3-of-12 from the field for nine points, 12 rebounds, and four assists, although Japeth Aguilar submitted double figures in scoring with 19 points, so did the Fil-Am duo of Maverick Ahanmisi and Stanley Pringle with 13 and 12, respectively.
Ginebra shot just 36 percent from the field, but was obviously hurt in points off turnovers, 24-9, and fastbreak points, 18-1.
