BARANGAY Ginebra coach Tim Cone paid tribute to Ricky Dandan, who resigned on Monday as head coach of Columbian near the end of the team’s campaign in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Dandan stepped down as coach of the Dyip on Monday at the end of a 4-7 win-loss campaign in the eliminations that put them on the verge of an early exit but was nonetheless an improvement from their 1-10 mark in the Philippine Cup.
Dandan’s effort didn’t go unnoticed though by Cone, who lauded the veteran coach for the marked improvement in the games of Dyip players led by Rashawn McCarthy and Jerramy King.
“I was sorry to learn Coach Ricky Dandan resigned. He did wonders with McCarthy, King, and other players,” wrote Cone on his Twitter account.
Under Dandan’s watch in the Commissioner’s Cup, the Dyip pulled off surprises including a victory over top seed Rain or Shine, the only defeat the Elasto Painters have so far this conference.
“Columbia has improved and playing an exciting brand of ball. The PBA will miss him,” added Cone.
